With the first specs of snow falling, we are officially on the build up to Christmas!
Before we get into the highlights of the week... a challenge! Can you solve the next two numbers? If not, hopefully your child(ren) can help explain!
We have completed our war flashback writing, and, having marked them, the emotive language, description and punctuation impressed me very much! We will now have a look back at them to edit them further. But a huge well done for working so hard on them!
We have started our 'Forces' topic in Science. We have set up and started an investigation exploring the effect mass has on gravity by being health and safety experts for our extreme theme park rides: this week's being the bungee jump!
Both year groups have been working hard in maths: Year 5 focusing hard on fractions, while Year 6 have been solving decimal word problems, as well as working on their reasoning skills.
In topic, in preparation for our trip next week, we have been investigating what life was like for an evacuee. This was after completing our helmets, which we created when looking at the Land Army and Land Girls. Take a look below at our creations!
Our PE this week has gone from some meandering dribbles in basketball to some sharp shooting in archery. You can see a few of our Robin Hood-wannabes below too!
At the start of the week, 9 of our class participated in the Cross-Country event, held at Churchill. A huge congratulations to all who took part. They all kept on going right to the end and we had some brilliant finishing positions. A special 'well done' to Isla, who managed to come first amongst a host of girls across 8 other schools.
Please remember, it is our class trip on Tuesday next week. If you can, please come into school dressed as an evacuee. It promises to be an exciting and action packed day!
Keep Right On!
