Reading

Book Bags should be brought to school every day and left in the red crate in the cloakroom.

The Year 1 children will have two reading books in their folders and if read, these will be changed twice a week, on a Monday and Thursday.

The Reception children will receive one book every Friday to reinforce the sounds learnt in the daily phonics lessons. (This will begin towards the end of Term 1).

Reading Diaries

When you have heard your child read, please record the title of the book, the page number your child has read up to and a brief comment about how they read in the Reading Diary.

If nothing is recorded in the Reading Diary, it is assumed the child has not read the school books and they will therefore not be changed.

Please ensure the Reading Diary is in your child’s Book Bag every day.

Physical Education

Please ensure all P.E. clothes are named and kept in school for the whole term.

Show and Tell

Please ensure that any home items brought in for sharing are relevant to the current topic or are pieces of art work or written work that your child would like to share.

Please could your child bring in ‘Seaside’ themed books, pictures, posters and objects e.g. buckets and spades and models to share and talk about. Thank you.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to come and see me.
