And we're off!!
Happy new year to you all and I hope you had a restful holiday (if that's possible over the Christmas period?)!
This week, the children got stuck into their work straight away. I want to take the time to congratulate all the children on their maturity and understanding as to why it was important to do another set of SATs papers. I was so impressed with what they achieved; all improving once again. A special mention to the Year 5s who tried a couple of them - they managed to hold their own very well and it sets them up for next year!
These assessments were sprinkled between our second of three 'Dance Your Socks Off' rehearsals. The dance is starting to take shape and we are making our timings more slick - even if Isla needs to remember which way the front is! :)
The majority of Year 6 completed their Level 1 and 2 bike-ability course, out on the main road after some preparation on the playground. Well done to all. Next week will see the turn of the Year 5s!
We also had the first of our swimming lessons at Churchill Academy. These will continue for the rest of the term.
We have also been looking at semi-colons, active and passive sentences, as well as introducing our new topic for this term - The Maya.
Please can I take this opportunity to ask you all to find as many email addresses as possible to vote for our school by following the link below. The top ranked school will win £7000 towards a security system for the school. Please share this with friends and family.
Thank you and have a great weekend,
Keep Right On
