How are we already half way through the term?
This week we have been in the middle of a solar system, travelling Europe in search for clues about WW2, becoming aliens and recounting our visit to Earth, as well as spotting some UFOs above school!
Year 6 have been solving long division and multiplication this week, while Year 5 have been securing their rounding and problem solving skills.
In English, we have been looking at how we can use adverbials in sentences and how we can move them to different positions to change the meaning. We were also very shocked to find UFOs flying above the school but luckily for us, Class 4 reacted swiftly and managed to take photos of them just in time! But fear not, our class will be researching the sighting next week, ready to report back on their findings!
We tried to create a scaled version of our solar system, only to realise that we ran out of field for the last 3 planets! It's probably a good thing Pluto was down-graded to a dwarf planet, otherwise we may have had some wet students down in the lake!
Exploring WW2, we researched the movements of the German army across Europe, up until the Battle of Britain.
Week 5 promises to be another action-packed week with our Football Fun Day after school on Monday and our exciting school visit to the Playhouse on Thursday!
If you haven't had the chance to yet, don't forget to venture into the hall before or after school to explore the books on offer at our Book Fair!
