First of all, I would like to thank you all for your fantastic efforts in helping us secure the £7,500 worth of security for our school! I know a lot of you were trying to get everyone you know to vote, and we all thank you for that.
Back in the classroom, it's been another action-packed week. We have finished our explanation texts and improved them by using our editing stations. The topics were chosen by the children, who planned and researched them before writing. I am looking forward to learning about lots of marvellous and different things, from Lego to dinosaurs and everything in between!
In maths, Year 5 have been looking at angles and how to use a protractor accurately, while Year 6 have been working on solving formulae problems. As a class, we had time to play a quick maths game involving lobsters!
In science, we completed our water resistance experiment (pictures below). Our understanding of the Mayans grew once again by looking at musical instruments that they had at that time and why they used them. We had a go at making our own, before writing an explanation - you can see how we got on below.
Class 4 worked incredibly hard to produce a very educational and fun Internet Safety Day. A big well done to everyone involved.
Our dance, for DYSO, is coming along nicely. Please remember to book your tickets at the Playhouse to make sure you get a seat!
Keep Right On!
