Ash Class

Our class teacher is Miss Pearson.  Ash Class is our youngest class for Reception (EYFS). We have our own outdoor area, which we use in all weathers during learning time.  

Miss Pearson aims to support all of the children in Ash class to become happy, independent, confident, curious and successful learners by providing a secure, safe and stimulating learning environment.

Below is a sample of the activities and experiences that Ash Class have enjoyed.


Term 6 2025

To end our year, Ash Class had a fabulous day out at Court Farm. The children thoroughly enjoyed stroking the farm animals, watching a cow being milked, bottle feeding the lambs, having a picnic, a tractor ride, an ice lolly and playing together in the play areas! What a wonderful way to end our year!

 

Ash Class had great fun participating in a range of multi-sport activities on the field.

  

Ash Class made stunning paper plate seaside scenes.

   

This term Ash Class had terrific fun dressing up as a pirate for our ‘Pirate Day’ and being entertained by Pirate Pete (Johnny from The Adventure Team.) Johnny told the children a fabulous story which included many hilarious characters, brilliantly fun games and much laughter! Johnny was terrific fun and he made our Pirate Day incredibly special and memorable.

  

Ash Class made repeating patterns using different materials!

   

Term 5 2025

Ash Class visited Saint Andrew’s Church, completing a tick list of key features found in the Church and drawing their favourite object.

 

Term 4 2025

Ash Class made beautiful Easter cards for their families.

    

Ash Class had great fun visiting the local park on the most glorious, sunny day.

Ash Class have been learning about the importance of recycling rubbish and understanding what damage it can do to our environment and to animals if it goes into land fill. The children successfully recycled a variety of rubbish into the correct recycle bin.

  

 

Ash Class joined the rest of the school in celebrating World Book by dressing up as a book character and taking part in a whole school parade. Throughout the day, the children listened to lots of fabulous stories and poems to fully understand the importance of books and of reading for pleasure.

  

Term 3 2025

This term Ash Class enjoyed making tiger masks after learning about the artist Rousseau, and his famous tiger paintings.

  

 

Ash Class had great fun visiting Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm to consolidate their learning on ‘Amazing Animals!’

  

 

Ash Class painted their very own Dragon Beasts after being enthralled and excited by the story of ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ by Julia Donaldson and Joel Stewart.

 

 

Term 2 2024

Ash Class made adorable Christmas tree decorations by sewing around the tree, adding stuffing and decorating with pretty jewels.

 

 

Ash Class painted fabulous pictures of plump Christmas puddings!

 

 

Ash Class made adorable penguin Christmas cards for their families.

 

 

Ash Class painted their very own finches after being inspired and enthused by the story of ‘I am Henry Finch’ by Alexis Deacon.

 

 

 

In the run up to Christmas, Ash Class were treated to a Secret Reader each day. The Secret Reader was either a parent or a grandparent. The children were incredibly excited to see who was knocking on the door and they were captivated by a wide variety of magical Christmas stories.

       

 

Ash Class loved dressing up in the Christmas costumes!

    

Ash Class enjoyed playing ‘Beanbag Throw’. The children made combinations of five by throwing five bean bags and saying how many were inside the hoop, and how many were outside the hoop.

 

 

After learning about the significance of Poppy Day and wearing a red poppy to honour and remember soldiers fighting or who have fought in a war, Ash Class walked down to Saint Andrew’s Church for a Remembrance service, along with the rest of the school.

     

 

Ash Class drew and painted beautiful poppy field paintings in honour of soldiers who have fought in a war.

   

Ash Class drew spectacular ‘Fireworks pictures’ using chalk and glitter.

   

 

Term 1 2024

 Ash Class were treated to a visit from a real-life superhero, Luke Groves, who came into school to talk about how to keep safe if there is a fire. Luke showed the children his protective clothing and answered lots of questions!

    

 

Ash Class loved making Halloween biscuits with Nicky Fairley!

   

Ash Class enjoyed making super sunflowers and decorating them with sunflower seeds!

  

Ash Class loved painting adorable hedgehogs and decorating them with Autumn leaves!

 

Ash Class enjoyed making cute paper plate scarecrows and decorating them with wool for the hair!

   

Ash Class loved drawing and painting awesome apple tree paintings!

  

Ash Class had great fun riding their scooters at the ‘Scooter Workshop!’

  

Ash Class had lots of time to learn the class rules, get to know each other, make friends and explore all the lovely resources inside and outside! The children were incredibly busy exploring and discovering new things, playing, talking, building, making, threading, sewing, sorting, problem-solving and riding on the tricycles and balance bikes with great attention, concentration and perseverance!
